GUIDELINES FOR FORUM BEHAVIOR.

INTRODUCTION AND GENERAL PRINCIPLES

These criteria are offered as a 'guideline' to follow and NOT as a set of rules,
however they DO govern the general attitude toward posting on this board.

The implementation of discipline with reference to these guidelines is
solely at the discretion of and final decision of the administration.

It is not the intention of these guidelines to censor free speech,
but it is in the best interests of the forum community
to maintain a sense of decorum and civility, responsibility,
and finally and most importantly, a fidelity to the Word of God.

Debate and discussion is a healthy way for people to learn from one another, however, when we enter into 'religious' territory, which is what this board is about, we need to understand that everyone has their own opinion and are entitled to it, BUT NOT if it deviates from generally accepted Christian doctrine ( see the 'directives' statement ~ next page ) and/or one attempts to proselytize others into such doctrines that deviate from the aforementioned. In cases where discipline is called for, the offending person will be notified in private. If they choose not to alter their post/s to fit within the guidelines, they will receive public warning to do such. If at that time, the offender will not alter said post, a council made of the membership will post an anonymous vote tally to either alter or remove said post/s and the decision will be implemented by the administration. If a pattern of producing offensive posts continues, the same procedure will follow with expulsion from the forum and banning of the ip address from future membership. In cases of blatant or severe violation of the guidelines and general Christian directives, posts and membership may be immediately erased and cancelled without notice. By joining this forum, you agree that you understand these guidelines/principles and to abide by them.

1. THIS IS A CHRISTIAN FORUM.
If you are a Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim or other flavor, you are welcome to come here
and learn that there is only ONE name under heaven whereby a man can be saved,
and that name IS JESUS CHRIST.

If you are here with the intent to attempt to disseminate your religion, you are not welcome.

2. CIVILITY
A. Members should address each other with due respect,
in that we are all made in the image of God.
If you wouldn't say it in front of Christ, don't say it here.

B. Post thoughtfully and courteously: if you don't have time to respond adequately to make yourself understood, wait until you can: there is no point in confusing others or in starting misunderstandings.

C. Please follow the 'golden principle' and do unto others as you would have them do unto you, NOT: Do unto others before they can do unto you.
We are here to support one another and cheer each other onto victory, not tear each other down.

D. If you are the subject of an inflammatory post, DO NOT respond to it, but bring it to the attention of the administrator. A fight requires two participants: if you remove yourself, the instigator has no fuel. Flame Wars, that is, heated debate that degenerates into personal attacks versus exchanging and discussing opinions is not allowed.

E. Political Correctness and it's attendant lack of reality perception do not exist within these walls, outside of that which is embraced in Biblical ethics and mores.

3. ASSUME INNOCENCE
Writing is an art, and all of us can be misunderstood.
Give a person adequate time to respond before assuming they are reprobate.

4. PROFANITY
We are adults here, but 'adult' language is subject to review and removal if it is deemed to be profane or harmful in nature. In deference to freedom of speech however, ANY WORD
that is used in the BIBLE is acceptable, PROVIDED it is needful to be used in a descriptive and NOT as an invective or curse word.

5. IMAGES
Images may be used provided they are copyright free and do not violate that which could be defined as generally acceptable CHRISTIAN content...again...we are adults, and the Bible
itself is quite graphic.....be sensible in this.......if not........there is the counsel.

6. LINKS
Please provide links to articles of interest on other sites, etc, versus posting the info here for copyright purposes. Make your point, provide a synopsis, and then provide the link.

7. SPAMMING
Any information obtained about the members on this site is NOT to be used for the purposes of creating spam lists, nor to be sold or offered to anyone that will.

8. SOCK PUPPETS
Sock puppets, or registering simultaneously under different screen names is NOT allowed.

9. LURKING
The guidelines concerning 'Lurking', or the act of hangin' out and reading posts without
being a member of the forum have changed, by virtue of a common consensus among
members who have voted to allow public access to the forum.
Anyone with internet access can now read the posts at FAF, however,
one cannot post or vote in policy making polls without registering

10. PMs
Personal mail is just that: personal. If people need to discuss private issues without having it become general public knowledge, a PM is the way to do it.
DO NOT post a PM without obtaining the other persons WRITTEN approval to do so: That is a violation of their privacy rights.

11. POLLS
Polling is anonymous and will be used for the basis of guideline enforcement, although one may start a poll for any other reason as well.

12. TYPOGRAPHY AND POSTING ETIQUETTE

A. USING ALL CAPS MAKES IT LOOK LIKE YOU'RE YELLING!!!!!!
Please refrain from that practice in general UNLESS you're making a point. There are also other various other typographic conventions available such as bold, italics, size and color
to make your point come alive.

B. Don't quote someone elses' entire post when you respond, but narrow it down to the area you want to address. That becomes confusing, as well as space and time wasting. If you don't know how to do that, others here can help you.

C. STAY ON THE THREAD TOPIC!!!!!! <----------That is meant to be a scream LOLOLOL
The Café is reserved for baloney sandwiches and the like.

D. Multiple posting: Don't post the same response over and over within different areas of the forum.

E. Remember to re-read your post and check it to make sure that it says what you want it to say, before you hit SEND. Writing is an art, and it is VERY easy to be misunderstood. Let's attempt to limit those sorts of mistakes.

13. FORUM FEATURES
Personal ID pics ( known to some as 'avatars' ), emoticons and the like are standard features of the forum, however additional ones can be added upon request, but are subject to review. No guarantee is given or implied that they WILL be available for use, nor within any given time frame. Hosting of ones' own ID pic as well as others can be arranged through a photo hosting site like 'Photobucket'.

14. PERSONAL ADVICE
Please feel free to offer support, suggestions, validation, your own stories and so forth. But please refrain from giving direct advice about major life decisions. Allow others to arrive at their own conclusions and make their own decisions. Do not assume that everyone is like you and what worked for you will work for them. Rather than imply someone "must" do something, simply report what worked for you.

15. HUMOR
Please limit humor within the Biblical threads to that which edifies or enlightens
by way of illustration. General humor is to be posted ONLY within the Café.
Let's not lose the ability to laugh at ourselves, none of us are perfect anyway.
Don't assume that humor is specifically targeted toward YOU personally,
if it IS, then I would suggest that you develop a thicker skin,
however, if it becomes ABUSIVE, we'll deal with that then.
In the meantime, if someone tells an elephant joke, and you are an elephant,
be thankful that you know how to read: there are multitudes of elephants
that are not as fortunate as you.
